StreamShōgun ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to collecting only what is necessary to provide and improve the service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. This is used for authentication and subscription management.
Billing Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials. We receive only a subscription status and Stripe customer ID.
Cloud Sync Data (Pro only)
If you enable Cloud Sync, your playlist URLs, favorites, and settings are synced to our servers. This data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in a secured database. We do not inspect or analyze the content of your playlists.
Application Usage
The desktop application operates locally. We do not collect telemetry, analytics, usage statistics, or personal data from the desktop app unless you explicitly enable Cloud Sync or create an account.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not track which channels you watch or when you watch them
- We do not collect IP addresses for analytics or profiling
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing
- We do not use advertising trackers, pixels, or third-party analytics on our website
- We do not access or inspect the content of your M3U playlists or XMLTV data
4. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
- To provide Cloud Sync functionality when enabled
- To send transactional emails (e.g., billing receipts, password resets)
- To respond to support requests
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secured infrastructure. All data in transit is protected with TLS encryption. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We regularly review our security practices.
6. Cookies
Our website uses httpOnly session cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookie-based analytics.
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Billing records may be retained as required by law.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
